⚠️ Updates about the Westernport Flood Response
In response to the devastating flooding in our area, the WBA and its local churches are actively leading relief efforts. Bruce Outreach has become a central hub for supplies and is providing daily meals to both residents and workers. They’re also assisting the senior center by delivering meals to the seniors who depend on them.
The WBA is financially supporting Bruce Outreach, helping cover the cost of meals and increased utility expenses during this crisis. In partnership with Chick-fil-A, the WBA will also provide 150 lunches for Friday’s food distribution. Additionally, the WBA is working with Disaster Relief teams, who are preparing to deploy assistance across Allegany, Mineral, and Somerset Counties.
MCC has mobilized its disaster trailer in recent days, helping local residents with flooded basements. The trailer will continue to be used in the weeks ahead as we transition into the cleanup phase.

In the wake of the devastating flooding that has impacted our community, many families are still without basic necessities — including food. As we continue to respond with compassion and action, we are reaching out to ask for your church’s help in meeting an immediate need.
We need to provide 150 lunches for flood victims and relief workers each day next week. These meals will go directly into the hands of those who are cleaning out homes, clearing debris, and trying to recover from this crisis.
Would your church consider partnering with us to make this possible? Whether you can commit to making 25, 50, or even all 150 lunches, every contribution will help us show the love of Christ in a practical, tangible way.
Each lunch can be simple:
Sandwich or wrap
Snack (chips, granola bar, etc.)
Piece of fruit
Bottled water
A note of encouragement (optional but meaningful)
There are take home containers available for hot meals.
Let’s come together as the body of Christ to meet this urgent need. Your help can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors who are hurting.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in this critical time.
If your church has the volunteers but lacks the funding we have funds available for this project.
Please contact Joe Saweikis if you have any questions and would like to supply lunch for these workers.
